Solutions for Maritime Professionals
Yacht brokers, shipyards, charter companies, vessel managers, maritime lawyers, and vessel operators – you each have specific needs when it comes to vessel registration, compliance, and client administration. This page brings together everything Lorrendraaier offers to maritime professionals, including NaviDesk, our new professional toolset for due diligence, ID verification, and digital contract signing.
Expert support for every stage of a vessel’s life and your client’s transaction
Maritime professionals rely on registration expertise they can trust. A rejection because the ownership structure does not meet the flag state’s eligibility criteria, a delayed transaction because the Apostille on the Certificate of Deletion was not anticipated, a charter that cannot proceed because the vessel is not in the right commercial category, these are the problems that reflect on you. We know how to avoid them.
Lorrendraaier has been working with maritime professionals for over ten years. We understand that registration is often non-core work for your business, important, but not what your team was hired to do. We take it off your desk and handle it efficiently, with direct communication and without needing to be chased.
Our services cover yacht registration, commercial yacht registration, work boat registration, provisional registration, withdrawal, registration advice, and survey coordination. And with NaviDesk – our new professional digital toolset – we now also offer KYC due diligence, online ID verification, and digital contract signing specifically for maritime businesses.
We do not provide fiscal or legal advice directly. Where those aspects are relevant to the registration decision – and for commercial operations they often are – we have a network of specialists we can refer your client to.

The professionals we support every day
Each professional role has a specific set of needs. We work with all of these – and the registration and NaviDesk services we offer are relevant to every one.
Yacht brokers
Managing registration for newly sold vessels, advising buyers on flag state options, handling withdrawal for sellers, and – with NaviDesk – verifying buyer and seller identities and closing transactions with digital signatures.
Shipyards
Registration for newly built or refitted vessels – yachts and work boats – including provisional registration for delivery voyages. Survey coordination where the flag state requires it before registration is completed.
Charter companies
Commercial yacht registration under the right flag state for charter operations, survey coordination, and NaviDesk for verifying charterer identities, conducting due diligence, and signing charter agreements digitally before handover.
Vessel managers
Outsourcing registration, withdrawal, and survey coordination for the vessels you manage on behalf of owners. We communicate directly, handle the administration efficiently, and keep your clients’ data secure.
Maritime lawyers
Registration advice reports to support your clients’ flag state decisions. NaviDesk for client onboarding – verified identity checks and securely signed engagement letters – all GDPR compliant and stored on file.
Commercial vessel operators
Work boat registration and re-flagging across multiple vessel types, with flag state advice, provisional registration for delivery voyages, and withdrawal managed as a single coordinated process.
Vessel registration and related services
Full details on each service are available on the linked pages, including what is required, how the process works, and how to get started.
Registration
Pleasure craft
Yacht Registration
Registration of sailing yachts, motor yachts, and catamarans under the right flag state. Flag state advice included. Full documentation and application managed through to the Certificate of Registry.
Commercial charter
Commercial Yacht Registration
Registration for charter yachts and commercially operated pleasure craft. The flag state must accommodate the specific nature and extent of the commercial operation, we advise on this before any application is filed.
Commercial working vessels
Work Boat Registration
Registration for tugboats, pilot boats, supply vessels, bunker vessels, and other commercial working craft. Ownership structure, vessel age, manning requirements, and trading area all assessed before the flag state is chosen.
Provisional Registration & Withdrawal
Delivery voyages
Provisional Registration
Provisional registration for yachts and work boats during delivery voyages and re-flagging transitions. Issued within 24 hours in most cases. Up to one year for commercial vessels on long international passages. White and grey Paris MoU flag states only.
Re-flagging or sale
Vessel Withdrawal
Formal deletion from the current register, for yachts and work boats. Certificate of Deletion obtained. Apostille arranged where the receiving register requires it. Deletion and re-registration managed as one process to eliminate handoff risk.
Class & flag requirements
Survey Coordination
Identifying the right surveyor for the vessel type and location, briefing them on the flag state’s specific requirements, and reviewing the outcome before the registration application is submitted. Applies to yachts and commercial vessels equally.
Registration Advice
Pleasure craft
Yacht Registration Advice
Identifying the right surveyor for the vessel type and location, briefing them on the flag state’s specific requirements, and reviewing the outcome before the registration application is submitted. Applies to yachts and commercial vessels equally.
Commercial working vessels
Work Boat Registration Advice
Detailed flag state assessment for commercial working vessels. Ownership structure, age restrictions, type-specific requirements, manning, trading area, and Paris MoU status all covered. Written report for professional decision-making.
Radio communications
Ship Station Licence
Issued to the vessel and tied to the registration. Covers VHF and other radio communication equipment. Includes CallSign, MMSI, and ATIS where applicable. Arranged alongside or immediately following registration.
Efficient, direct, and completely focused on getting it right
Registration is often a non-core task for the professionals who use our services. You are a broker, not a registration agent. You are a lawyer, not a flag state expert. We understand that and we work accordingly, taking the task off your desk and handling it with the efficiency and reliability your clients expect from you.
We communicate directly with you. We do not use answering services or pass work through layers of administration. When something needs attention, you hear about it from us, quickly and clearly. And when we need information from you or your client, we ask for only what is actually required.
Our ISO 9001 certified processes mean every engagement – regardless of vessel type or flag state – follows a consistent, documented approach. Our 9/10 satisfaction score, sustained for over ten consecutive years, reflects that consistency.
Our commitments to maritime professionals
ISO 9001 certified processes
Every registration, provisional, withdrawal, and survey coordination follows a consistent, documented process, regardless of vessel type or flag state. No shortcuts, no ad-hoc decisions.
Direct contact, always
No answering services, no call centres. When you contact us, you speak with someone who knows the file. Boudewijn Meijer is personally involved in every client relationship.
Upfront advice, before problems arise
We identify eligibility issues, age restrictions, and Apostille requirements before any application is filed, not after a rejection. Your client’s timeline is protected.
GDPR-compliant data handling
All client and counterparty data – including data processed through NaviDesk – is handled in accordance with GDPR. No commercial sharing, no use outside the specific service being provided.
Honest about scope
We are clear about what we do and do not provide. We do not offer fiscal or legal advice, but we have a network of specialists we can refer you and your clients to.
9/10 satisfaction, ten years running
Our client satisfaction score has been 9/10 for over ten consecutive years. This reflects the quality of what we deliver and the consistency with which we deliver it.
